How did you find Cho? If you could just stroll down Int’l Blvd. and find any old shop, how did you settle on the son of a dentist? And does he have experience making any other jewelry?

I agree that this is a well-done, interesting article, highlighting an aspect of American culture that is not mainstream. What is your interest in this subject? Did it stem from grills or soaring gold prices?

That was a really great read. It’s interesting how not everyone immediately realizes that grills are removable. I know I didn’t realize this until I got to know a guy who wore them from time to time.

JC’s business is an Oakland landmark and this style of jewelry is a part of Oakland culture.

So this is where thugs pick up their thugware.

can’t we shut these businesses down? outlaw this stuff? Make up an ordinance that fines people for wearing this? make a reason to justify it?

America, land of free. We are descending into the ranks of thugs and unemployable. No wonder Asia laughs at us. Look at Singapore – you have to dress neatly and appreciate your country by keeping it litter and graffiti free. The result? One of the safest areas in the world, plus a population that is immensely educated and ambitious.
