Oakland North is continuing with our new feature. Every Tuesday, Oakland Animal Services will spotlight an “Animal of the Week” that’s up for adoption at their facility. This week it’s Margie:
Margie is a Himalayan bunny. She is approximately three-years-old but since rabbits can live to be at least eight-years-old, she still has a lot of life and love to give. Margie is sweet, playful and a favorite with the volunteers at Oakland Animal Services. She was adopted in May but her owner died unexpectedly and Margie was returned to the shelter. Margie is very smart and learned to use a ramp to get up on the bed with her owner when they watched TV together. Please consider taking Margie into your home. Part of the Oakland Police Department, Oakland Animal Services is both an Animal Control unit—which is in charge of the city’s public safety and animal welfare—and a shelter, which helps abused, neglected and abandoned animals within its facility.
