OPD seeks help spotting car linked with adult abduction case

The Oakland Police Department released an alert this afternoon asking for the public’s help in spotting a car believed to have been used in the February 5 abduction of an adult woman.

According to the OPD, on February 5 at approximately 8 pm witnesses reported an unidentified woman being chased and assaulted by two men who cornered her inside an apartment complex on the 1000 block of Aileen Street in the Golden Gate neighborhood. Witnesses told police that the woman was forced into a black Chrystler four-door vehicle with the license plate 6JFG056, and that the two men fled the scene in it.

Anyone who spots this vehicle is asked to call 911.

The OPD is continuing to investigate the abduction and has not yet located the suspects nor the victim.

Update Sunday 10 pm: According to the OPD, the abduction victim has been located at a hospital, but the case remains under investigation. More information will be released as it becomes available.
