Oakland North is continuing with our feature. Every week, we will publish a photo submitted by one of our readers. This week’s photo is by Sara Lafleur-Vetter.
Lafleur-Vetter snapped this photo at 14th Street and Broadway in downtown Oakland on October 11, the first day Occupy Oakland protesters set up camp in front of city hall. “I like this picture because the scantily clad occupy protester is contorted in such an amazing pretzel and in a state of bliss as the the cops stand idly behind grinning and not having much to do,” Lafleur-Vetter wrote in an e-mail.
If you’d like to contribute to “community photo of the week,” just send a favorite photograph taken in Oakland to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject: PHOTO. Please make all photographs large-sized and in jpeg format.
