Every week, Oakland North will publish a photo submitted by one of our readers. This week’s photo is by Christopher Voss.

Voss snapped this photo at an auto shop near his house off East 12th Street.  ”I took it purely because I liked the colors,” Voss wrote in an e-mail. “I think this is true of all parts of Oakland — people love the “grit” because it can be very beautiful. No exception here.”

    Love that sign. Oakland Grown used a stylized version of my photo of the sign for the Oakland Grown gift card.
