Adoptable animal of the week: April

Oakland North is continuing with our feature. Every week, Oakland Animal Services will spotlight an “Animal of the Week” that’s up for adoption at their facility. This week it’s a cat named April:

April is a short-haired, solid black female, 1-2 years old. She is a highly energetic and playful cat who would do best in a home with an experienced cat owner skilled at reading a cat. April can be a bit unpredictable, so we recommend that she go to a home with no children and no other cats. For more information about April and to watch her videos, visit her Petfinder profile or visit Oakland Animal Services at 1101 29th Avenue, Oakland, CA and ask to see her.

April’s adoption fee is $35, the standard adoption fee for a cat at Oakland Animal Services.  The fee includes her spay, microchip, and all vaccinations including rabies. To adopt, all household members must attend whether family or roommates.

Part of the Oakland Police Department, Oakland Animal Services is both an Animal Control unit—which is in charge of the city’s public safety and animal welfare—and a shelter, which helps abused, neglected and abandoned animals within its facility.
