Art & Soul 2012 festival street closures, bus diversions announced

In preparation for the city’s annual Art & Soul festival, the city has announced several road closures that will affect downtown streets. All roads will be re-opened by the morning of Monday, August 6.

The beginning times for each road closure are as follows:

9 am Thursday, August 2: 

Clay Street between 11th and 12th Streets

6 pm Thursday, August 2: 

12th Street between Broadway and Clay Street

10 a.m. on Friday, August 3: 

14th Street between Broadway and Martin Luther King, Jr. Way

12th Street between Clay and Jefferson Street

Clay Street between 11th and 16th streets

Jefferson Street from 11th to 15th streets

According to a city press release, all downtown garages will remain open, and free parking for festival-goers will be available at the City Center West garage at 12th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Way. The festival can also be accessed via the 12th Street BART exit.

According to the AC Transit website, several downtown bus lines will be re-routed between August 2 and August 6 due to street closures, including the 26, 800, 14, 20, 40, 31 and 88. Click here for a complete list of diverted routes and stops.
