Sweet memories, soaring home prices

African Americans first broke Temescal’s color barrier in the late 1950s and early 60s. Today a handful of black families remain, even as their kids have scattered to far-flung suburbs like Antioch and Pittsburg. Below are their memories of life near 51st and Telegraph.
