Feast for the Beasts

Zoo visitors can donate produce that will be used to help feed the animals, and the first 250 guests will get to help put the food in the elephant pen (before the elephants arrive.) The zoo will also open a new exhibit, Animales de los Arboles (animals of the trees). Prices included with regular zoo admission. More information here.

Lakeshore Neighborhood Plant Exchange

    Come to Redux Studios & Gallery on Friday, April 12, from 6 to 9 p.m. for the opening reception of “The Altered Paintings Project.” Over 30 artists will have their “altered” art on display — thrift store paintings that have been modified in some way. Enjoy food, beverages, and music from local Alameda band the Up and Down. Great fun! Redux is located at 2315 Lincoln Avenue, Alameda. Call (510) 865-1109
