Annual Support Strokes benefit raises money for cancer care in Oakland

on October 12, 2016

On October 8, California Canoe & Kayak hosted their 14th annual Support Strokes event in hopes of raising $15000 for the Charlotte Maxwell Clinic. The funds raised will allow the clinic to continue to provide free cancer care services to low income women in Oakland.

The benefit allowed kayakers and paddle boarders of all experience levels to paddle throughout the bay in one of three courses: expert, intermediate or beginner. Depending on the course, all participants had to donate $30 to $50, which goes directly to the clinic.
