Oakland International School and Thornhill Elementary School students created paper lanterns inspired by Obon, a Japanese festival that also honors ancestral spirits for the Oakland Museum of California’s Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration. Their work will be displayed at the “Metamorphosis and Migration” exhibit through January.
