New state program makes tuition free for first year community college students

For the 2015-2016 school year Peralta Community Colleges District students received more than 69,000 financial aid awards across four campuses. The majority of students awarded aid were given the Board of Governors Fee Waiver which waives the per-credit fee of $46 for low-income students. Many students received more than one type of aid.

Newly enrolled, full time community college students across the state will become eligible for a fee waiver through the California College Promise.
