Recessionomics: Now available in bite-sized pieces!

So remember those Hyundai commercials that tried to lure potential buyers with the prospect of three months worth of car payments? Well, in a new commercial, Saturn sees Hyundai’s bid and raises to nine months of car payments. Just another sign of economic desperation on the telly.
On a related note, I’ve been struck by the number of ads on tv that use the recession as a way to relate to viewers. Such as, starting the ad with a knowing, “Times are tough…” voiceover, before pitching the insurance policy or car or cell phone plan. For kicks, I’m putting together a list of recession-themed commercials. So far, I’ve got Allstate insurance, GM cars, AT&T roll-over minutes, Kmart layaway…. Any others that you all have noticed during your daily television intake?
