North Oakland Now: 05.21.09
on May 21, 2009
The election is over and seniors are already letting the City Council know they can’t take more cuts. Maybe attending meetings and speaking up is the answer. There are plenty around today.
For park lovers, there is a 5:30 p.m. meeting to talk about the latest plan for Oakland’s beloved Cleveland Cascade. For bicycle fanatics the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee‘s meetings starts at 5:30 p.m. to talk about the restoration of the pedestrian path. For Rockridge residents, RCPC is holding a city hall meeting to review Safeway’s latest plans for its College Avenue store. It will feature local architect Jerome Buttrick and start at 7 p.m.
For those too busy to go to any of the meetings, Oakland North will attend as many as we can.
