October 16, 2009: Thank goodness it’s Friday.

on October 16, 2009

Good afternoon Oakland,

If you’ve been working as hard as we have this week, you’re going to need a weekend break. Here are a few goings-on in the Oakland/East Bay area that we think will tickle your fancy. Happy weekend!

  • The Pacific Coast Brewing Co. is having their 21st anniversary party tonight from 5 pm to 11 pm on Washington Street between 9th and 10th streets. Head on down for what’s sure to be a fun “legal at last” evening.
  • If you really are into beer, this must be the weekend for you: the Linden Street Brewery Brats & Beer event is happening Saturday from 12 pm to 5 pm at the Linden Street Brewery, which is at #8 Linden St. @ 3rd Street. The event benefits the Bay Area Community Services’ Thanksgiving Food Basket Distribution Program and the Oakland Rotary Community Endowment. No entrance fee and a free bike valet equals a great outdoor Saturday event.
  • As we mentioned yesterday, the city of Oakland plans to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Loma Prieta earthquake Saturday with a ceremony and preparedness fair at Cypress Freeway Memorial Park at 3 p.m.
