BART has reached a $1.5 million settlement with the mother of Oscar Grant’s daughter Tatiana. The woman filed a $50 million lawsuit against the transit agency after Grant was shot on a station platform on Jan. 1, 2009.

An East Bay man who objects to the devilish connotations of the name “Mt. Diablo” is petitioning a federal agency to change the peak’s name to “Mt. Ronald Reagan.”  The Contra Costa Board of Supervisors will discuss their options at Monday’s meeting, and must file an opinion to the agency by March 31.

Warriors fans, take note: Oracle CEO Larry Ellison confirms he wants to buy the NBA team from owner Chris Cohan. The team lost last night to the New Orleans Hornets 123-110.

Safety officials issued citations to three Bay Area hospitals including Kaiser’s Oakland hospital.

iGrow, the “Walmart of weed,” opens today down the street  from the Oakland airport. A story in the San Francisco Chronicle describes the store as a “one-stop shop for medicinal marijuana cultivation that’s believed to be the largest in the state,” and reports that at least three city council members will attend the opening.
