Cal senior basketball player Alexis Gray-Lawson, an Oakland Tech grad, is leading the Pac-10 Conference in scoring. She plays her final home game on Saturday. The Trib’s Monte Poole helps give her a proper sendoff here.

The Golden State Warriors are struggling through yet another losing season. At least there’s one bright spot. If you’re ever wondering why Warriors fans continue to support a team they know will lose twice as much as it wins, year in and year out, check out this site. Positive thinking!

Major League Baseball’s spring training is underway in Arizona and Florida. The A’s didn’t get off to the best start in their opener yesterday. The new ace pitcher with the fragile elbow takes the mound today against his former team.
