Adoptable Animal of the Week: Shania
on December 14, 2010
Oakland North is continuing with our new feature. Every Tuesday, Oakland Animal Services will spotlight an “Animal of the Week” that’s up for adoption at their facility. This week it’s Shania:
Shania is a shorthaired calico cat that is around 4-years-old. She has been waiting at Oakland Animal Services to be adopted since August. Shania loves people and when she is especially comfortable she will roll over to get her tummy scratched. She prefers being the only cat in the home but will be tolerant of other cats after a little time to settle in. Because Shania has been with Oakland Animal Services for more than 60 days, she is only $15 to adopt. The adoption fee includes spay, microchip and vaccinations. Please consider giving Shania a home. To see a video and more photos of her, click here. Visit Oakland Animal Services at 1101 29th Avenue, Oakland, CA and ask to see Shania. You can also visit www.oaklandanimalservices.org.
Part of the Oakland Police Department, Oakland Animal Services is both an Animal Control unit—which is in charge of the city’s public safety and animal welfare—and a shelter, which helps abused, neglected and abandoned animals within its facility.
