Community photo of the week: Oakland has an autumn, too
on December 22, 2010
Oakland North is continuing with our new feature. Every Wednesday, we will publish a photo submitted by one of our readers—except this week’s photo is actually by one of Oakland North’s reporters, Dara Kerr.
After moving to California from the East Coast a couple of years ago, Kerr lamented the lack of traditional seasons in this temperate climate. However, this year, she opened her eyes a bit and realized that Oakland actually does have seasons—instead of wintery snow, it’s rainy; and instead of hot summers it’s, well… cold. Kerr’s favorite season is fall, so this year she took photos to document the fact that, indeed, leaves change in the Bay Area too. She took this photo near her apartment in Lake Merritt area of Oakland.
