Adoptable Animal of the Week: Nutmeg

on January 18, 2011

Oakland North is continuing with our new feature. Every Tuesday, Oakland Animal Services will spotlight an “Animal of the Week” that’s up for adoption at their facility.  This week it’s Nutmeg:

Nutmeg is a puppy pit bull terrier mix just around two-months-old. She loves people and toys and isn’t mouthy so would probably do well with children. Nutmeg will probably weigh 40 pounds when she is full-grown. The volunteers at Oakland Animal Services say they have fallen in love with her because she is so sweet. Nutmeg has been at the shelter too long already, please consider giving her a home. To see more photos of her, click here. Visit Oakland Animal Services at 1101 29th Avenue, Oakland, CA and ask to see Nutmeg, her ID number is 33059. You can also visit

Part of the Oakland Police Department, Oakland Animal Services is both an Animal Control unit—which is in charge of the city’s public safety and animal welfare—and a shelter, which helps abused, neglected and abandoned animals within its facility.
