Community Photo of the Week: Historic Mills Hall
on September 21, 2011
Oakland North is continuing with our feature. Every Wednesday, we will publish a photo submitted by one of our readers. This week’s photo is by Kim Kerry-Tyerman.
Kerry-Tyerman snapped this photo of historic Mills Hall on the Mills College campus. “As a Mills student, I see this beauty every day but to most of the public it’s buried away in the concrete of East Oakland,” Kerry-Tyerman wrote in an e-mail. “Mills Hall is one of Oakland’s thirteen California Historical Landmarks, a fun fact especially considering that Mills and the City of Oakland were both founded in 1852 and have had a fruitful partnership since then.”
