Community Photo of the Week: Sausal Creek in Winter

Oakland North is continuing with our feature. Every week, we will publish a photo submitted by one of our readers. This week’s photo is by Sean Reinhart.
Reinhart snapped this photo of Sausal Creek, in the area up above the Leimert Bridge. “I was hiking down the creek, picking my way across the rocks from bank to bank, when I turned around to see this striking vista,” Reinhart wrote in an e-mail. “The scene was so evocative of old historic photos of the area. It felt like I’d been transported back to a simpler time, when watersheds like this were everywhere in their natural state. I find it immensely satisfying that Sausal Creek has been so extensively restored through the efforts of groups like the Friends of Sausal Creek.”
