Community Photo of the Week: Piece of Oakland in Mendocino

on June 13, 2012

Oakland North is continuing with our feature. Every week, we will publish a photo submitted by one of our readers. This week’s photo is by Kirstyn Russell.

Russell, a resident of North Oakland, snapped this photo of a brick down a little walking path in Mendocino. “I like the photo because I imagine the bricks were made in Oakland and traveled all that way,” Russell wrote in an e-mail. “Finding the bricks was completely unexpected.”

If you’d like to contribute to “community photo of the week,” just send a favorite photograph taken in Oakland to ryan.phillips@oaklandnorth.net with the subject: PHOTO. Please make all photographs large-sized and in jpeg format. Oakland North cannot pay for community photos, except in gratitude and local love.
