Community photo of the week: Tightrope walkers at Lake Merritt
on August 15, 2012
Every week, Oakland North will publish a photo submitted by one of our readers. This week’s photo is by Charles Pine.
He writes, “I came across this scene on an overcast Saturday, perfect weather for tightrope walkers at the northeast end of Lake Merritt. The Olympics were on, and it was the weekend of the Art & Soul festival downtown, thankfully out of earshot. No matter what spectacles were available, the funambulists had their own understanding of the truth that you are what you do.”
