Community photo of the week: Red arrow

Every week, Oakland North will publish a photo submitted by one of our readers. This week’s photo is by Stephen Coles.

He writes, “The Lake Merritt BART Station features some interesting pearly white tile. Even more unusual is the giant arrow directing passengers to the stairway. It’s the kind of motif that could only come from the late 1960s to early 1970s and its one of my favorite spots in the BART system.”

If you’d like to contribute to “community photo of the week,” just send a favorite photograph taken in Oakland to staff@oaklandnorth.net with the subject: PHOTO. Oakland North cannot pay for community photos, except in gratitude and local love.
