Community photo of the week: View from the pier

Every week, Oakland North will publish a photo submitted by one of our readers. This week’s photo of the Oakland port cranes is by Laurel Bellon.
She writes, “It was taken on New Year’s Eve day from the Berkeley pier. It was spectacularly clear and surprisingly still down on the waterfront. I just thought it was a serene image, calmly sailing by the crane, waiting for the world to change.”
If you’d like to contribute to “community photo of the week,” just send a favorite photograph taken in Oakland to staff@oaklandnorth.net with the subject: PHOTO. Please make all photographs large-sized and in jpeg format. Oakland North cannot pay for community photos, except in gratitude and local love.
