Adoptable animal of the week: Jupiter
on March 5, 2013
Oakland North is continuing with our feature. Every week, Oakland Animal Services will spotlight an “Animal of the Week” that’s up for adoption at their facility. This week it’s a cat named Jupiter.
Our adoptable cat of the week is a gallant grey-haired gentleman named Jupiter. Jupiter is a mellow and affectionate guy who can take some time to adjust to new surroundings. He is looking for a patient guardian, with a quiet home that has lots of windows. Jupiter’s favorite pastimes are stretching out in the sun and curling up on his favorite person’s lap. When in the right mood, he can also be enticed to chase after a toy, but, for the most part, Jupiter is content simply to love and be loved. Jupiter arrived at the shelter with another cat, so he may be able to live with another cat-friendly cat. However, he dislikes noisy, unpredictable environments and would do best in a home without young children.
For more information on Jupiter, visit his Petfinder profile, which can be found here: http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/25356110 or visit Oakland Animal Services at 1101 29th Avenue, Oakland, CA.
The total adoption fee for Jupiter is $35. He has been neutered, microchipped, is current on all vaccinations and has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. To adopt, all household members must meet with Jupiter, whether family or roommates.
Part of the Oakland Police Department, Oakland Animal Services is both an Animal Control unit–which is in charge of the city’s public safety and animal welfare–and a shelter, which helps abused, neglected and abandoned animals within its facility.
