Adoptable animal of the week: Celia

on May 29, 2013

Oakland North is continuing with our feature. Every week, Oakland Animal Services will spotlight an “Animal of the Week” that’s up for adoption at their facility. This week we have Celia!

Silky, soft Celia is a mellow and affectionate girl, between 6 to 8 years old, whose idea of a perfect night involves cuddling up next to you on the couch while watching a movie or snuggling close to you in bed as her luscious purrs lull you to sleep. Celia is a social girl, who loves being around people and is always careful to divide her attention among everyone in a room. She is the kind of cat who will be quite happy to be your shadow and confidant while you are home, while being equally content to entertain herself in front of a sunny window while you are at work. Celia is the perfect cat for a first-time cat guardian. She is also completely unfazed by the energy of young children and will do well with a loving family. While Celia is not very open to sharing space with other felines, she may be able to live with a mellow dog.

Celia has been spayed, microchipped, is current on her vaccinations and has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. To learn more about Celia, visit her Petfinder profile here: http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/25727827. To adopt Celia, all household members must meet with her, whether family or roommates. The fee to adopt Celia is $35.

Celia is one of many dogs and cats that will be available to adopt from Oakland Animal Services for FREE during the fourth annual Maddie’s Pet Adoption Days on Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, June 2. On these days ONLY all dogs, cats, puppies and kittens will be available to adopt for FREE to qualified homes. As an added bonus, each successful adoption will earn the shelter a generous donation from Maddie’s Fund of anywhere from $500 to $2,000. Mark your calendars now for Maddie’s Pet Adoption Days: Saturday, June 1, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, June 2, from and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, see www.oaklandanimalservices.org or visit Oakland Animal Services, 1101 29th Avenue, Oakland, CA.
