Busline Blog: Fix the 51 this week
on March 9, 2009
Signs are up all over town announcing a series of open houses AC Transit is holding to try and sort out problems with the 51 bus. As someone who’s watched in amazement as not one, not two or three, but five 51 buses pass by within one or two minutes, I think this discussion seems long overdue.
If you want to head to the meetings, the schedule is below. If you want to dive yet deeper into the mysteries of the 51, check out AC Transit’s official report here and enjoy such illuminating passages as “headway adherence is based on a relationship between the coefficient of headway variation and the probability (P) that a vehicle’s headway deviation hd (actual headway minus scheduled headway) will be off by more than one-half the scheduled headway h.” It all makes sense now.
Line 51 Open House:
Monday, March 9, from 6:30pm to 8pm at St. John’s Presbyterian Church, 2727 College Avenue, Berkeley
Thursday, March 12, from 6:30pm to 8pm at Haight Elementary School, 2025 Santa Clara Avenue, Alameda
Saturday, March 14, from 10:30am to 12pm at AC Transit General Offices, 1600 Franklin Street, Oakland
