Adoptable animal of the week: Martinique

on August 14, 2012

Oakland North is continuing with our feature. Every week, Oakland Animal Services will spotlight an “Animal of the Week” that’s up for adoption at their facility. This week it’s a cat named Martinique.

Simply stated, Martinique is a great cat. She is a sweet natured medium-haired calico-tortoiseshell-Maine Coon mix about eight years old. Martinique loves your attention and a lap to sit on. She is the perfect listener  for anyone who likes to talk to their cat. Martinique could live with a mellow dog but probably not another cat. Visit Martinique’s profile to read more and see her video: http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/22941830 or or visit Oakland Animal Services at 1101 29th Avenue, Oakland, CA and ask to see Martinique.

Martinique’s adoption fee is $20, the special adoption fee for a cat during August at Oakland Animal Services. The fee includes her spay, microchip, and all vaccinations including rabies. To adopt, all household members must attend whether family or roommates.

Part of the Oakland Police Department, Oakland Animal Services is both an Animal Control unit—which is in charge of the city’s public safety and animal welfare—and a shelter, which helps abused, neglected and abandoned animals within its facility.

I volunteer at the shelter where Martinique is & have had the absolute pleasure of spending time with her. She is my favorite! If you are looking for a sweet, affectionate, cat, look no further…
