Key witness in police scandal returns to Bay Area, ready to sue, her lawyers say

The teenager at the center of a sexual exploitation scandal involving multiple police departments has returned to the Bay Area, according to her attorneys. At a press conference Thursday morning, civil rights attorneys Charles Bonner and Pamela Price said they are planning to sue “everyone involved” in sending Guap to Florida and in her sexual exploitation.

Key witness against OPD officers may be released soon, allowing DA to file charges

Oakland community discusses what they want in new police chief

The City of Oakland is looking to hire a new police chief. During the first of 10 community meetings, Oakland youth said they want someone who is accountable, trustworthy and approachable. The next meeting is tonight at 6pm.
