Bay Area same-sex marriage advocates react as Supreme Court takes on Proposition 8

Oakland Pride celebrates the city’s gay and lesbian community

Organizers expected about 25,000 people to show up for Sunday's celebration. In the last two years, about 30,000 people came out to Oakland Pride.

Oakland Pride, a festival celebrating the city’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered community, drew about 20,000 people to the city’s Uptown district on Sunday.
