Bread Project offers fresh start for low-income residents

Mustafa Ahadi bottles kombucha at the House Kombucha production facility in Fruitvale. Ahadi started working at House Kombucha after completing a food and beverage industry course at the Bread Project, a workforce development program based in Emeryville.

Mustafa Ahadi came to the United States as a refugee after working as a medical translator with the US Armed Forces in Kabul. “This is a good country to find the dreams,” he says.
