North Oakland Now 05.30.09
on May 30, 2009
Hey, North Oakland, here are some ideas for your weekend:
First, put down that laptop, get off the couch and enjoy the cool summer weather by taking a leisurely walk through Rockridge to Lake Temescal.
Or, if that’s not your style, forget what I just said, nestle a little deeper into that couch, brew yourself a cup of coffee and catch up on local news: find out what residents said about the latest chapter in the Safeway/Rockridge discussion last week, or get pissed off about how the Governor plans to tap into Oakland’s already stretched cash flow and take some action.
If neither of these options sound appealing because you’re still deeply depressed about the recent closing of the Cerrito theater, remember, all is not lost: rally your movie and beer-loving friends and attend the Save the Parkway meeting on Sunday at 3 pm at the Rooz cafe on Park Boulevard.
