Shannon and the Clams is an Oakland-based band that turns life’s awkward moments into damaged pop gems. Their vintage sound and energetic live act is helping to revive a Bay Area tradition of goofy punk rock dating back to the late 1980s. S. Howard Bransford talks to these ex art students about their sound, songwriting process and adventures on the road.
