Community photo of the week: Gloomy lake
on May 22, 2013
Every week, Oakland North will publish a photo submitted by one of our readers. This week’s photo is by Steve Nagoski.
He writes, “Last week I stopped at the Lake Merritt Bakery to get a cake for my best friend’s birthday, and walking home along the lake I noticed the dark clouds and light breeze made a really interesting set of reflections, especially after the prior several bright and sunny days. I had no reason to be worried, but couldn’t help feeling the ominous mood. That night, we had to cancel the birthday dinner due to a work emergency, and I hear that bakery burned to the ground. Sad stuff. Anyhow, here’s my picture that captures the mood.”

There was a fire at Lake Merritt Bakery, but it didn’t “burn to the ground”. Let’s be a little less dramatic, ok?!
