The Shaolin Master of Oakland

on April 13, 2009

Trained in kung fu at the Shaolin Monastery in Henan, China since the age of 12, Master Larry Li came to the U.S. in 1999. After two years of performing, he came to Oakland and establish his kung fu studio in the Chinatown district.

Shaolin temple at the age of 12? Perhaps he trained at one of the schools near the temple?

Many parents will send their children to Shaolin temple to learn kung fu when the children were very young. So i am not surprised to hear this Kung fu master went to learn kung fu at 12. It takes a lot of practice.

Larry was and still is the best instructor I have ever had. He has taught and inspired me in many ways, and I believe he will continue to be an inspiration to many more after me.
