A poignant stop war sign at Webster and 49th

On the corner of Webster and 49th, adjacent to the Oakland International High School campus where refugee students from all over the world work towards a better future, this stop sign art is just a little bit more poignant than it would be elsewhere.

I saw the guy who put this up… My house is just past the big yellow house on the corner (it’s actually 48th & webster) and my wife and I were leaving the house when a tall man with a purple wig on first painted over the other graffiti there and then applied those letters. Then he took pictures. He rode off on his bike and we did too.
