Community Photo of the Week: Oakland Occupied
on October 12, 2011
Oakland North is continuing with our feature. Every Wednesday, we will publish a photo submitted by one of our readers. This week’s photo is by Jesus Contreras.
Contreras attended the Occupy Oakland protest on Monday afternoon and snapped this photo in front of city hall with his phone. “I was there because first of all, I am resident of the community and I wanted to express my disagreement with the system and how the wealth is wrongly distributed,” Contreras wrote in an e-mail. “It was beautiful see people from different backgrounds all together making things happen.”
