Man shot while feeding the homeless dies

Oakland police said today that Paris Powell, the man who was shot early Wednesday morning while serving food to the homeless, died of his injuries in the hospital later that night.

Two shot while feeding the homeless in East Oakland

The Oakland Police Department is reporting that at approximately 12:30 am on Wednesday, a man and a woman who were feeding the homeless on 47th Avenue in East Oakland were shot by an unknown person who pulled up alongside them in a car.

Early Thursday morning, Oakland police officers and firefighters were called out to investigate a fire on the 5800 block of Ivanhoe Road in the Rockridge area and discovered the body of a woman burning in the street.
