On Wednesday the Oakland Police Department released a bulletin announcing that an arrest has been made in connection with the February 5, 2010 beating and abduction of an unidentified 25-year-old woman on the 1000 block of Aileen Street in the Golden Gate neighborhood.

A female victim reported being sexually assaulted and beaten as she returned home at 10 pm Tuesday night to her apartment complex located near the corner of Jackson and 8th Street. This is the fourth report the Oakland Police Department has received of a sexual assault of a female in the Lake Merritt area since September.
The Oakland Police Department released an alert this afternoon asking for the public’s help in spotting a car believed to have been used in the February 5 abduction of an adult woman.
As we reported Thursday, Oakland Tech went on lock-down briefly in the afternoon when reports came to them from police that an armed robber was suspected of roaming the nearby streets. The man police were chasing had robbed a bank in Livermore earlier in the afternoon and then fled to Oakland.
