Volunteers survey Oakland’s parks, amidst ongoing challenges

On Saturday, volunteers and park stewards gathered for the 11th annual Love Your Parks Day, conducting a survey to inspect the conditions of more than 110 Oakland parks.

No new crematoria, say council and demonstrators

Oakland residents showed support at last night's City Council meeting for an ordinance that limits the construction of new crematoria. Councilmembers also voted on a Jack London Square redevelopment and recognized community volunteers and organizations.
