BART rally draws crowd amidst rocky negotiations

on October 10, 2013

Hundreds gathered Tuesday evening at Frank Ogawa Plaza in Oakland to protest a lack of progress with BART negotiations. There were no definitive statements about whether there would be a strike Friday, but workers said if an agreement is not reached, there is a good possibility.

“I couldn’t tell you how long we’re going to be out,” said Patricia Schuchardt, ASCME president for local 3993, regarding a strike. “We’re gonna be out as long as it takes.”
