Drawn Together event supports Children’s Fairyland through art
on October 6, 2016
On September 30, Children’s Fairyland held their annual Drawn Together event which drew over 250 attendees, selling out the venue. This adults-only event invited artists and the general public into the park for a night of artistry, food, drinks, and conversation, all culminating in an auction.
Over 50 artists, spread throughout Fairyland’s 10 acre park, were given a few hours to produce works of art that would be sold at $40 a piece. Using pen, paint, watercolors or whatever medium they preferred, artists drew anything they desired. Upon completion, all of the art was taken to Aesop’s Playhouse where guests flocked to examine their potential purchases.
One by one, the art was presented to the eager audience in an auction format. There were so many buyers vying for each creation that a deck of cards had to be distributed to guests; whoever got an ace card got a painting. Every single piece of art was sold, and the resulting funds will go toward bettering Fairyland. Drawn Together is set to continue annually for years to come.
